WSOP Gladiators of Poker Event Sets Records with Massive Turnout

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has seen an exponential surge in attendance since 2022. For example, its flagship $1,000 Mystery Million event drew 18,188 entries, making it the largest buy-in field ever for an event of this nature at any buy-in level or greater. Other comparable events also saw significant attendance increases year over year: for example the inaugural $2,500 NLHE event saw 1,139 runners (a 50% increase year-on-year); similarly the inaugural Deep Stack $600 event recorded an 370 entry increase year over 2023!
WSOP 2018 also witnessed record fields for non-NLHE events such as the $1,500 Razz tournament with 556 entries – its highest turnout ever! Also impressive was that 2,071 participants turned out for this year’s $1,000 Pot Limit Omaha event; that figure represents almost 10% more players than last year.
Overall, 24 events of the 2023 WSOP have drawn in 63,878 entries — almost 4000 more than in 2022 at this same point — representing nearly 40% growth – showing great promise for their goal to break the record of 8,773 runners for the $10,000 Main Event which was set back in 2006.
